Sometimes you just hit it lucky and my introduction to Barbara, a popular Monaghan barista, was one of those fortuitous moments! Since 2019 Coffee Break with Barbara has been a second home for Nelius Flynn Artworks, exhibiting a rotating exhibition of paintings and drawings for me. It’s wonderful to have such a well lit and ambient space for the work, and a very warm welcome for everyone who drops in! Barbara has become a great friend & support and makes a wide variety of coffees and delicious healthy food.
This year, with Covid 19 it’s been challenging for Coffee Break but all safety measures have been carefully followed and the outside area covered in for customers. The staff do everything they can to keep people safe and make sure they have a pleasant visit. I really enjoyed being Artist in Residence for two Saturdays in the Summer, when I drew a section of the interesting old courtyard. Once restrictions are lifted I plan to hang some new pictures inside and to do more drawings while enjoying my decaf!
