I don't quite remember when I started doing Christmas scenes in our front window, but the tradition goes back many years. It probably started when a relative in America sent us a little plastic Christmas village. The tiny windows had a stained glass effect when you put fairy lights in them. Years ago decorations weren't as easy to come by as they are now, and we really appreciated the annual parcels with Hallmark and other decorations that family members sent to us.

Over the years our Christmas collection has certainly grown! It is hard to resist new ornaments even yet, especially something unusual and vintage looking comes along.

Since we live on a busy street it's fun to help brighten up the village and I hope people stop by to enjoy our latest Christmas scene.
